Congressman Kim Holds Town Hall on Gun Violence

MOORESTOWN N.J. – On Tuesday, Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) hosted a telephone town hall to discuss gun violence in the wake of the Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde, Texas, federal avenues for prevention, and what’s being done at home in New Jersey to protect our children and our communities.

In 2022, there have already been more than 200 mass shootings in America. Congressman Kim was joined by the Burlington City Police Chief, John Fine, and Alyssa Anderson, a social studies teacher at Burlington City High School. Each shared their unique perspectives on gun violence and how it impacts their lives both at school and at home.

A full recording of the town hall can be found here.

Congressman Kim has co-sponsored several bills to reduce gun violence and keep our communities safe including the Bipartisan Background Checks Act, the Assault Weapons Ban of 2021, the Disarm Hate Act, and the Extreme Risk Protection Order Act.

Congressman Kim is a member of the House Armed Services Committee, the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and the House Committee on Small Business. More information about Congressman Kim can be found on his website, kim.house.gov.
