of Oyster Creek Oversight Panel

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) released the following statement on the establishment of the Oyster Creek Safety Advisory Panel by Governor Murphy, which will help oversee the decommissioning process of the Oyster Creek Nuclear facility.

“This is a welcomed step to ensure the people of Ocean County have a real voice in the decommissioning of the Oyster Creek facility. I look forward to working with the board as it’s established to ensure all parties engaged in this process are accessible and accountable to our communities.”

 

Congressman Kim recently held a town hall in Lacey Township on the Oyster Creek decommissioning process. Prior to his town hall, Congressman Kim toured the Oyster Creek facility and sent a letter on behalf of people in the community to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to get further information on the impact of the process.
