Congressman MacArthur Statement on Secretary Mattis

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congressman Tom MacArthur released the following statement on Secretary Mattis:

“Secretary Mattis is a true patriot. His lifetime of service reflects his love of country and commitment to the men and women of our Armed Forces. He has made our nation stronger and safer and he will always have our gratitude.

“The Secretary is right that to protect our own interests, we must strengthen our alliances with other nations. We also cannot ignore the real threat from adversaries like China, Iran and Russia. I hope in this new year and in the years to come, we continue to prioritize and build up our alliances, while staying focused on deterring all forms of aggression from bad actors.”
