Congressman Rob Menendez Sworn Into 118th Congress

Officially Begins Service as Representative for New Jersey’s Eighth Congressional District

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rob Menendez was today sworn in to the 118th Congress, where he will serve the residents of New Jersey’s Eighth Congressional District as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives.

“The opportunity to serve the residents of the Eighth Congressional District in Congress is a privilege and an honor. With their help, I am ready to meet this moment,” said Congressman Rob Menendez. “Our constituents can always count on our office to be their top advocates before the federal government and to work on their behalf. I am ready to take on issues that impact our residents the most – increasing affordability, defending civil rights, battling climate change, making neighborhoods safe from senseless gun violence and investing in our infrastructure, among the many other policy priorities I will work to advance. I look forward to working with Leader Jeffries, House Democratic leadership, and the members of our Caucus to deliver on our party’s pro-working families agenda.”

A former Commissioner of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and an attorney at Lowenstein Sandler LLP, Congressman Menendez was elected on November 8th, 2022 to represent the Eighth Congressional District which includes most of Hudson County, the East and North Wards of the City of Newark in Essex County, and the City of Elizabeth in Union County.
