Congressman Sires Announces COVID-19 Funding to Additional Community Health Centers Serving the 8th District

 

(Washington, D.C.)- Congressman Albio Sires (D-NJ) announced additional Community Health Centers serving the 8th District of New Jersey also received critical CARES Act funding to combat the coronavirus from the CARES Act.

 

– Horizon Health Center, Inc., which serves Jersey City, received $831,650

– Saint James Health, Inc., which serves Newark, will receive $546,695

 

“These Health Centers are essential to community efforts to combat COVID-19 and are often the primary health care provider for many of our most underserved populations,” said Congressman Sires. “I am pleased that the federal government has stepped up its support for these frontline institutions by providing additional emergency funding through the CARES Act. Community Health Centers share in the burden of this fight and we cannot allow them to sink under the new influx of demands on their systems. I am grateful to all of the Community Health Centers and their staff for their personal sacrifice and dedication to our residents during this public health emergency.”
