Congressman Sires Condemns the Removal of Inspector General Linick  

(Washington, D.C.)- Congressman Sires condemned President Trump for his overnight removal of State Department Inspector General Steve Linick: 

“This is now the third time this President has removed an inspector general from their position seemingly because they were doing their jobs. These actions are just the latest in a pattern of blatant disregard for any form of independent oversight, meant to hold all branches of our government accountable to the Constitution, our laws, and the American people. Such measures from this Administration have unfortunately become an unsurprising occurrence. I continue to be alarmed at this Administration’s flagrant rebuke of our foundational democratic values and infrastructure. More must be done to hold the President accountable for his routine abuse of power.
