(Washington, D.C.) –Today, Congressman Albio Sires released the following statement on the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning British monarch: 

“My colleagues and I mourn the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. Throughout her seventy year reign, the Queen was a steadfast ally of the United States, guiding our nations’ partnership into the 21^st century. I offer my condolences to King Charles, the British Royal Family, and the people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth of Nations.”
