Senator Kristin Corrado penned multiple letters to New Jersey Secretary of State Tahesha Way to request that the election process be made fully transparent while ensuring both County Clerks and the Board of Elections can deliver fair and accurate election results.

“I have heard from many constituents who are justifiably concerned about the numerous cases of voter fraud, ballot tampering, incorrect counting, human error, and postal issues earlier this year,” said Corrado (R-40). “A common saying goes, ‘The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over again and expecting different results.’ We need to ensure the accuracy and fairness of the many crucial local, county, state, and federal elections so the rightful winners may best represent the citizens of New Jersey.”

In her first letter, Corrado asked Secretary Way to direct all New Jersey county clerks to post sample ballots online as soon as possible.

Her second letter requested that each Board of Elections be required to publicly post their plans to count the ballots.

Corrado said the potential for election mayhem is completely avoidable as the number of COVID-19 cases in New Jersey has dropped significantly.

“From the onset of this pandemic, residents have waited in line to check out at supermarkets,” added Corrado. “Residents have waited in line to access basic services at their local MVC. New Jerseyans should be allowed to wait in line and vote in person at the ballot box. Dr. Fauci has even said there is no reason people can’t vote in person as long as they wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines. I will continue to call for the administration’s reversal of its order to hold an almost exclusively vote-by-mail election.”
