Corrado Designates May as New Jersey “Small Business Month”
Senator Kristin Corrado’s (R-40) resolution designating May of each year as “Small Business Month” in New Jersey unanimously passed the Senate Commerce Committee. “Small businesses are the backbone of the New Jersey economy,” Corrado said. “As a small business owner, I understand the countless financial and personal sacrifices entrepreneurs make to build their business from the ground up. Let’s annually dedicate the month of May to highlight the enormous role small businesses play in growing our state and local economies.” Sen. Corrado’s bipartisan legislation, SJR-27, designates May of each year as “Small Business Month” in New Jersey. New Jersey has more than 820,000 small businesses, comprising more than 98% of all New Jersey employers. Small businesses employ 1.7 million workers, making up more than half of the state’s workforce. “Small businesses are integral to the Garden State’s economic health, identity, and well-being. This resolution is intended to highlight the hustle, dedication, and resilience of small business owners throughout New Jersey.” |
