Coughlin & Bramnick Statement on Protests Planned for January 17

(TRENTON)-  Assembly Speaker Craig J. Coughlin (D-Middlesex) and Assembly Republican Leader Jon Bramnick (R-Union) issued the following statement Wednesday regarding planned protests in Trenton and other state capitols throughout the United States:

“The right of residents to peaceably assemble is an essential aspect of our democracy. However, the destructive and violent acts that occurred in Washington D.C. on January 6, were an assault on our shared values of freedom and mutual respect.

“Together, we urge all residents who wish to voice their concerns on Sunday, January 17, to do so in a peaceful manner that honors America’s democratic principles.”
