Councilman Brian Thomas to Host Neptune City Blood Drive on May 28th

Neptune City, N.J. – In an effort to aid local hospitals and medical facilities, Councilman Brian
Thomas (Neptune City) will be hosting the “Community Blood Drive” at the Neptune City Community
Center on May 28 th from 11am – 4pm. The blood drive comes as area supplies near critically low levels
due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and loss of donor events over the course of the past year:
“Hosting a blood drive became an easy decision especially once I knew how impacted our area’s supplies
have become due to the pandemic,” commented Councilman Thomas. “This event will go a long way to
directly help so many lives in our area who desperately rely on donations. I know our community will
rally to the cause because that’s what we do best – help each other!”

To ensure a safe setting for all donors, Thomas is partnering with the Central Jersey Red Cross to facilitate the blood drive. Donations that are collected will be used across the region especially in Cancer Treatment Facilities which are in desperate need of blood:

“I cannot thank the Red Cross enough for partnering with me to do this drive as well as provide a safe environment for all willing to help,” Councilman Thomas said. “I greatly look forward to the blood drive and knowing how any people it can and will aid throughout the area.”
