Councilman Brian Thomas Looks Forward to New Committee Roles in Neptune City

Neptune City, N.J. – With a New Year comes new roles as Neptune City Councilman Brian Thomas was appointed to chair the borough’s Law & Ordinance Committee as well as co-chair the municipality’s Administration & Finance Committee. Thomas says he is embracing the new positions as a means to find innovative ways to aid residents and businesses that have been impacted due to the COVID-19 pandemic and New Jersey’s worsening fiscal climate:

“Our residents and small businesses have been drastically impacted this past year by the pandemic, heavy restrictions, and Trenton’s increasing costs – but at the local level, we have a real chance to continue to provide help now and into the future,” said Councilman Thomas. “As chair of the Law & Ordinance Committee I am eager to do just that, help! The amazing thing about Neptune City is we come together – no matter what – to be there for each other and I believe this can be another opportunity to do so. After a thorough review, I will report my findings to the governing body and our residents to gain their input.”

Councilman Thomas, who was the chair of the Administration & Finance Committee last year, is enthusiastic to continue as co-chair and maintain Neptune City’s track record of being financially responsible while still providing the highest level of services for its residents:

“Last year, even with everything going on, we were able to accomplish so many things from movie showings, park revitalizations, and other projects – all the while not increasing costs on our residents,” stated Thomas. “We have some of the best department heads in the state, who always go above and beyond to ensure our community remains the great place it is. I look forward to continuing to work alongside them in the year to come.”
