County College of Morris Photography Technology program Organize Exhibitions at MAYO Performing Arts Center
RANDOLPH, NJ –The Photography Technology Program at County College of Morris (CCM) has organized two exhibitions at the MAYO Performing Arts Center galleries in Morristown. The first exhibition called “Workers of Morris County,” features works by CCM photography students that runs until February 18 in the Main Gallery. The second exhibition, “Ringhoff Offering,” highlights works by former student, Mariah Ringhoff. That exhibition runs through March 3 and is located in the Starlight Gallery.
Opening receptions for the exhibitions will occur concurrently on Tuesday, January 28, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend the free opening receptions.
In developing the “Workers of Morris County” exhibition, CCM Photography Professor Hrvoje Slovenc assigned each student one professional living or working in Morris County. The final photographs showcase a wide range of professionals including a school teacher, fashion designer, welder, paramedic, interior designer, photographer, fitness coach, dog groomer, baker, mechanic and real estate agent.
“The challenge was to create a complex construct of the professionals’ public persona,” explains Slovenc.
CCM photography students involved in the exhibition are Melissa Efrus, Holly Grom, Katrina Jenisch, Julia Johnston, Ana Latorre-Luy, Jennifer Miller, Stacy Moen, Manuela Ramirez, Jessica Schaub, Kahli Suggs-Barnes, Betty Ulicki and Walter Ulicki.
CCM Professor Nieves Gruneiro-Roadcap, chair, Department of Art and Design organized the “Ringhoff Offering” exhibition.
“I am grateful for my relationship with CCM. Not only did the photography department nurture my skills so I could develop the tools I needed to make a career in photography, they also taught me the process of finishing artistic projects,” stated Ringhoff.
Ringhoff will donate all of the proceeds of her “Ringhoff Offering” exhibition sales, with 20 percent of proceeds benefitting the CCM Photography department and 80 percent of the proceeds benefitting the MAYO Performing Arts Center.
