County Commissioner Sullivan Statement On Confirmation of Justice Pierre-Louis

Commissioner Thomas J. Sullivan
Bergen County Board of Commissioners

STATEMENT ON THE CONFIRMATION OF SUPREME COURT JUSTICE FABIANA PIERRE-LOUIS

I’d like to congratulate Justice Fabiana Pierre-Louis on her confirmation to
the Supreme Court of New Jersey. Today is truly a historic day in our state.

Justice Pierre-Louis was an excellent nominee by Governor Murphy and I applaud the Senate for their unanimous confirmation. Justice Pierre-Louis is a true New Jersey success. She was raised in Irvington, graduated from Rutgers, clerked for Associate Justice John Wallace, and worked as an Assistant US Attorney for New Jersey. In addition to becoming the first African-American woman to serve on the state’s highest court, she is abundantly qualified to join this esteemed branch of our state. Her story should serve as an inspiration to us all.
