As COVID-19 Crisis Continues, Rosemary Becchi Slams Democrat Leadership; Calls for No Pay for Partisanship Bill

Parsippany, NJ: Rosemary Becchi, Candidate for New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District strongly criticized the partisan politics of the Senate today and joined Senator John Neely Kennedy of Louisiana (R-LA) in calling for all Congressmen and Congresswomen to forego their salaries and allocate the funds to emergency relief of victims of the Coronavirus and immediate emergency medical needs.

Here in New Jersey and all across the United States, We the People, have been asked to take extraordinary steps during this COVID-19 crisis to help ensure the pandemic can be slowed and eventually cured. The Coronavirus has cost people their lives, their jobs, their businesses and has in the blink of an eye allowed Government to take away our freedoms in the name of “containment.” We are all being asked to come to the table and give up something so asking that Congress put forth a bi-partisan effort to provide emergency resources to help all of us seems a reasonable request in these unreasonable times.

It appears that Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and other Democrat leaders much prefer partisan politics to protecting Americans. It is shameful, disgusting and dangerous.

What is stopping the Democrats from helping to pass the Senate proposal? The expansion of wind and solar tax. Changes to voter registration, early voting, voting by mail. Restricting colleges from providing information about citizenship status. What do these issues have to do with protecting our businesses, jobs and safety? All of these issues have the right to be debated, discussed and voted on. But not during a national emergency when people are losing their lives and livelihoods.

To sum this up, here is a quote from Senator John Neely Kennedy of Louisiana from the floor of the Senate today:(R-La.), “This country was founded by geniuses but it’s being run by a bunch of idiots.”

Since Congress, in particular the Democrat party, does not seem to understand the tremendous economic fallout that has been created, I think they should get a lesson in real life. Many of us are faced with having our salaries cut so I propose Congress foregoes all of their monthly salary, that is provided by taxpayers, and that money is immediately spent on emergency supplies and support for our health care workers, emergency personnel and most importantly those who have been infected with the Corona virus. When this crisis has become contained and Americans can resume their normal lives, Congress can get paid again. I propose we call it the “No Pay for Partisanship” bill.

STOP THE POLITICS and START HELPING THE PEOPLE!!
