COVID-19: DiMaso & Scharfenberger Release Statements Regarding Cases in LD13
Middletown, N.J. – Following reports of the first confirmed COVID-19 death and new presumptive positive cases Assemblywoman Serena DiMaso and Assemblyman Gerry Scharfenberger issued the following statement:
“We are very sad to hear about the passing of a Bergen County man and our prayers are with his family,” said DiMaso (R-Monmouth). “Unfortunately individuals with underlying health conditions and compromised immune systems are more susceptible. While several new cases have been confirmed in the last 24 hours I have the utmost confidence in our healthcare facilities. It is important for residents to stay calm and informed of the facts. The best response to COVID-19 concerns is to maintain the appropriate hygiene practices you would for any flu season; wash your hands consistently, disinfect communal surfaces, and stay home if you feel sick.”
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family during this time. We have been in contact with the appropriate authorities so we are kept updated regarding the current patients presumed to have COVID-19 as well as any possible future cases,” says Scharfenberger (R-Monmouth). “We have some of the best healthcare facilities in the nation within Monmouth County and we, along with our Country’s leadership, will do everything possible to ensure the public’s safety.”
