CRYAN, QUIJANO AND ATKINS RELEASE LATEST DIGITAL AD TOUTING RE-OPENING OF MVC IN ELIZABETH

UNION – Senator Joseph Cryan, Assemblywoman Annette Quijano and Reverend Reginald Atkins today released the latest digital ad from their campaign, touting the long overdue re-opening of an MVC location in Elizabeth.

The city’s last MVC site was closed over a decade ago by then Governor Chris Christie, compelling Cryan and Quijano to make it a priority to bring an MVC back to Elizabeth and return those critical services to New Jersey’s fourth-largest city.

Many long-time observers maintained through the years that Christie’s decision to remove the MVC from Elizabeth was political retribution for then Assemblyman, and Democratic State Chair, Cryan’s work leading the Democratic Party during Republican Christie’s gubernatorial campaign.

Cryan and Quijano were joined by Elizabeth Mayor J. Christian Bollwage and Murphy Administration official, Motor Vehicle Commission Chief Administrator Sue Fulton.

The ad will run throughout the 20th legislative district, which is comprised of Elizabeth, Union, Roselle and Hillside, and can be found at this link:Elizabeth Motor Vehicle Announcement

“We fought every day to get this MVC location restored for Elizabeth residents and for people throughout the district,” said Cryan.  “When Chris Christie pulled this location for political retribution, the impact on our district was sharp and immediate.  We promised our constituents we would do whatever it takes to get an MVC restored in Elizabeth so people wouldn’t have to travel for miles to get basic services fulfilled and working with Governor Murphy and his Administration we were able to keep that promise.”

“Governor Murphy has been a tremendous partner and a true teammate in the ongoing effort to deliver for Elizabeth, Union, Roselle and Hillside residents,” said Quijano.  “The restoration of this MVC location in Elizabeth will have an immediate and long-lasting impact on all those we represent and we could not be more proud of the fact that we were able to deliver on our promise.”

“The re-opening of this MVC is just another tremendous example of the hard work always on display from Senator Cryan, Assemblywoman Quijano and Governor Murphy himself,” said Rev. Atkins.  “Bringing back these critical services for our residents is a true demonstration of their character and commitment and yet another reason why I am proud to stand with Joe, Annette and the Murphy Team this Election Day, Tuesday, June 8th.”
