CSC to Host 3rd Annual State Workforce Diversity Summit

TRENTON – The New Jersey Civil Service Commission is scheduled to host its Third Annual State Workforce Diversity and Inclusion Summit virtually on Thursday, December 9, 2021, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This year’s event is entitled, “Developing Programs for Employee Engagement and Wellness.”

“We are proud to launch our Third Annual Workforce Diversity and Inclusion Summit for State and local government employees as we continue to work toward creating a more diverse pool of talented and qualified individuals that reflects the diversity of New Jersey,” said Deirdre L. Webster Cobb, Esq., Chair and Chief Executive Officer of the New Jersey Civil Service Commission.

Dr. Charlie Williams, Executive Director, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Diversity Programs, added, “Each year, the CSC Workforce Diversity and Inclusion Summit has been a very successful tool in increasing awareness and understanding for the value of meaningful diversity and inclusion within the state workforce.”

The inaugural event in 2019 attracted over 100 State government employees who came together to jointly learn about the value and importance of diversifying our public workforce through panel presentations and workshops. Each successive event has attracted nearly 200 registrants.

As part of its Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, CSC has hosted Public Employment Job Fairs and launched the CSC State Workforce Diversity Council. “We believe that the attendees will obtain resources and information during the Summit that are useful, and applicable within their respective Departments and Agencies,” said Dr. Williams.

This free event is open to State and local government employees. Those interested in attending can register at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CSCDiversitySummit2021.
