West Long Branch, NJ – At their county convention Thursday evening, the Cumberland County Republican Party unanimously voted to award the official Republican line on the June 6th primary ballot to Kim Guadagno. The endorsement comes after PolitickerNJ reported that Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli failed to file the necessary paperwork to compete for the Republican line.
“It’s unfortunate that Assemblyman Ciattarelli’s campaign chose to ignore Cumberland County Republicans,” said Cumberland GOP Chairman Michael Testa. “Kim Guadagno is a fighter for South Jersey and she is the candidate who will help us build a lasting Republican Party in New Jersey. She knows that to create jobs in South Jersey, we need to reduce regulations, cut taxes and get government out of the way. She also understands that the politicians are there to serve the people, not the other way around. I have no doubt Kim will make New Jersey better as governor.”
Guadagno thanked the Cumberland County delegates for their support: “Cumberland County will always have a special place in my heart because my youngest son, Anderson, was born in Vineland. Over the past 7 years, I’ve been to Cumberland County 38 times to campaign for Republicans up and down the ticket. In fact, I’ve been in South Jersey one out of every three days I’ve had the privilege the serve as lieutenant governor. I am honored to have the endorsement of the Cumberland County Republican Party as we fight to create a better New Jersey for our children and grandchildren.”
Guadagno has either earned the official Republican Party line or slogan on the June 6th primary ballot in the following counties: Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Hudson, Morris, Ocean, Passaic, Salem and Warren. |
