Cunningham Celebrates Signing of Bills to Ease NJCLASS Loan Repayment

Trenton – Senate Higher Education Chair Senator Sandra Bolden Cunningham issued the following statement celebrating the signing of two bills she sponsored which will assist those struggling to repay NJCLASS loans:

“It has been a long road, but today we made loan repayment a far less intimidating task for countless borrowers across the state. Today we made college more accessible and less burdensome for all New Jerseyans. We often think of getting more people to finish college as the goal, but we cannot forget about those who struggle to find economic stability after receiving their degrees. I am incredibly grateful for everyone that played a part in bringing this legislation to fruition, especially David Socolow, Director of HESAA, who helped to craft these bills. Income sensitivity options and remedies for defaulted loans will provide much needed relief for many struggling to make their payments each month.”
