Cunningham Commends AG on Taking the Lead in Protecting Title IX

Trenton – Senate Higher Education Chair Sandra B. Cunningham issued the following statement today commending Attorney General Gurbir Grewal for taking a leading role in opposing rollbacks of federal rules that protect students from sexual violence and harassment:

“In recent years, colleges across the United States have come a long way in terms of the way they handle sexual assault and harassment, but there is still a long way to go. It is imperative that we do not let Betsy DeVos turn back the clock as we continue to move forward.

“I am grateful Attorney General Grewal is leading the fight against the Trump Administration, alongside the Pennsylvania and California attorney generals. College students across the county deserve better than a federal government that is dismissive of their safety and wellbeing. But if they can’t have that, I am thankful officials in our state are defending them.”
