CWA BACKS ELECTION FOR THREE CANDIDATES WITH TRACK RECORD OF FIGHTING FOR WORKERS IN PATERSON CITY COUNCIL RACE

Ruby Cotton, Luis Velez, Al Abdelaziz Get CWA Nod

 

PATERSON – Heading into a big election year for working families throughout the country, the Communications Workers of America, District 1, announced their endorsement today for the election of three candidates for City Council in Paterson, a race that will have a particularly significant impact on their membership working at the Passaic Valley Water Commission. Crediting them with strong track records of fighting for working people CWA will back:

 

  • Ruby Cotton for Ward 4
  • Luis Velez for Ward 5
  • Al Abdelaziz for Ward 6

 

“Ruby, Luis, and Al have all demonstrated a deep commitment to our values and have proven track records of fighting for union members,” said Dennis Trainor, Vice President, CWA District 1. “We believe they will be strong representatives for us and our communities.”

 

“Ruby Cotton, Luis Velez, and Al Abdelaziz impressed us with their dedication and record in serving working people and their knowledge and support for unions,” said Mickey Santiago, President of CWA Local 1032. “We strongly recommend them for election and look forward to working in partnership with them.”
