CWA ENDORSES CINDY MATUTE-BROWN FOR MAYOR OF WEST ORANGE

(TRENTON, NEW JERSEY) – Today, the Communications Workers of America (CWA) announced its endorsement of Cindy Matute-Brown for Mayor in West Orange.

“West Orange deserves a mayor with vision, leadership skills and who knows how to get stuff done,” said Dennis Trainor, Vice President for CWA District 1.”Cindy Matute-Brown has a proven record of fighting for the values our union believes in. We are always excited to support someone for public office who understands the needs of labor and stands up for working families.”

“Cindy knows what its like to show up every day and work hard.  She’s done it as a community activist, union organizer and council member,” said Fran Ehret, CWA NJ Area Director. “And now Cindy will bring that same passion, dedication and commitment to service as West Orange’s next mayor.“

And I am so grateful to have earned the endorsement of the NJ CWA – representing over tens of thousands of essential workers throughout New Jersey ” said Cindy Matute-Brown. “CWA members keep the state moving forward.  As Mayor, I will be a strong voice for labor and will fight to ensure the dignity of all work. The Communications Workers of America (AFL-CIO) represents both private sector and public workers. CWA represents more than 70,000 working families in New Jersey, including over 40,000 state workers, 15,000 county and municipal workers, and thousands of workers in the telecommunications, airlines, healthcare and direct care industries.
