CWA ENDORSES PATERSON MAYOR ANDRE SAYEGH FOR RE-ELECTION

(PATERSON, NJ) – Today, the Communications Workers of America (CWA) endorsed Mayor Andre Sayegh in the upcoming Paterson Municipal Election.

“Many of the benefits we enjoy today originated from our union brothers and sisters,” said Mayor Andre Sayegh. “As more employees begin to unionize across the country, let us never take for granted the role labor plays in our State and City.  I am truly humbled and honored to receive the endorsement of the CWA.”

“Mayor Sayegh supports policies that look out for workers and the communities they live in,” said Dennis Trainor, Vice President for CWA District 1. “ That is why CWA is proud to support Andre Sayegh for another term as mayor. We represent over 2,000 CWA members and family members who call Paterson home. And you can bet we’ll be talking to them about how Mayor Sayegh is looking out for their interests, lives and livelihoods.”

“When we first endorsed Mayor Sayegh in 2018, it was because we believed Andre fit the mold of a progressive leader who will always put Paterson’s working families first,” said Fran Ehret, CWA NJ State Director. “Over the last four years, Mayor Sayegh has wholeheartedly lived up to both his promise as mayor and his promises to working people.”

Communications Workers of America (CWA) New Jersey represents more than 70,000 working families in New Jersey – including more than 40,000 state workers, 15,000 county and local government workers, and thousands of workers in the telecommunications and direct-care industries.

Paterson’s Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, May 10th.
