(TRENTON, NJ) – Today, the Communications Workers of America (CWA) endorsed Mayor Reed Gusciora for re-election in the upcoming Trenton Municipal Election. The Union also endorsed CWA Members Jenna Figueroa Kettenberg and Taiwanda Terry-Wilson for Trenton City Council.

“I am grateful to receive the endorsement from CWA, one of the leading unions in advocating for working families’ best interests here in New Jersey,” said Mayor Reed Gusciora. “My administration has and will continue to strengthen workers’ rights and promote equitable development for the City of Trenton”

“Mayor Gusciora is the principled leader Trenton needs to keep the City going in the positive direction we’ve witnessed under his steady guidance,” said Dennis Trainor, Vice President for CWA District 1. “The thousands of CWA members who live and work in Trenton are ready to hit the streets in support of Mayor Gusciora, as well as on behalf of our CWA sisters Jenna Figueroa Kettenberg and Taiwanda Terry-Wilson. These people stand for decency and a progressive, prosperous Trenton for all.”

“I’ve been fortunate to know Reed Gusciora long before he became Mayor, and even before he represented Trenton’s working families in the State Assembly. I’m hard-pressed to think of someone more decent and who cares more about economic & social justice, revitalizing our Capital City and simply helping people,” said Fran Ehret, CWA NJ State Director. “I’m also ecstatic that our Union is supporting two of our own for Trenton City Council – in CWA members Jenna Figueroa Kettenberg and Taiwanda Terry-Wilson.”

CWA represents over 2,000 members who live in Trenton, as well as tens of thousands more who work in New Jersey’s Capital. These include both private sector and public workers. Statewide, CWA represents more than 70,000 working families in New Jersey – including over 40,000 state workers, 15,000 county and municipal workers, and thousands of workers in the telecommunications, airlines, health care and direct care industries.

Election Day is Tuesday November 8th, 2022.
