Mayor Christine Dansereau and Councilwoman Denise Wilkerson call on Union Democratic Chairman Nicholas Scutari to withdraw his ballot challenges

Incumbent Mayor Christine Dansereau won Roselle's Democratic 2019 primary election, defeating challengers Donald Shaw, the town recreation director, and former School Board Member Archange Antoine.

Mayor Christine Dansereau and Councilwoman Denise Wilkerson call on Union Democratic Chairman Nicholas Scutari to withdraw his ballot challenges

“While we are confident that we will prevail in Chairman Scutari’s frivolous challenge to
our candidacy, we are very concerned about Chairman Scutari spending the time, effort
and our Democratic Party’s money in trying to toss Democrats off the June Primary
ballot when he should be concentrating on getting Democrats elected in November.
That is why we are calling on Union County Democratic Chairman Nicholas Scutari to
drop his challenges against us and our fellow Union County Democrats and start
building the Union County Democratic Party instead of sowing discontent and division.
We are calling on Chairman Scutari to stop pushing petty politics and retaliation and
instead work to bring us together and support Democrats. We are calling on Chairman
Scutari to stop spending time and money trying to push Democrats off the ballot and
instead work to ensure Democrats win up and down the ballot. Chairman Scutari should
drop this challenge today, stop the heavy-handed politics, and let the Democrats in
Roselle and other towns in Union County choose their leaders.”
