NEWARK, NJ — Democratic candidate for Congress Darryl Godfrey is releasing the first digital video ad of the 10th District Special Primary Election, with a planned five figure ad buy including pre-roll, Connected TV, social media and blast texting placements. Titled “Barbara,” the ad showcases Darryl’s humble beginnings being raised in Newark by a single mother who worked multiple jobs to support him and his siblings, as well as his plans to build more affordable housing, create more high quality jobs and protect reproductive rights.

“My mother gave me the chance to go to college, start a career and reach some incredible life goals, but for too many people in the 10th District it’s getting harder and harder to achieve those same dreams,” said Godfrey. “I’m running for Congress to use my experience as an economic development expert to deliver the progress and change that the people of Essex, Union and Hudson counties need, and I’m so excited to begin sharing my vision with the voters.”

Godfrey has hit the ground running early in the Special Primary Election, raising over $100,000 in less than two weeks since launching his campaign and filing with over four times the required number of petition signatures. A renowned economic development expert and successful entrepreneur with a record of spurring investment and job creation in urban communities, Godfrey is running to bring new leadership and a fresh perspective to the district while honoring the enduring legacy of the Payne family.
