Dates Added For Hunterdon-Somerset Joint Covid-19 Test Site

The Hunterdon and Somerset County Freeholder Boards have announced additional dates: April 22 and 24, have been added for the joint Covid-19 test site for residents from either county, with a physician’s prescription, at Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC), located at 118 Lamington Road, Branchburg.
Hunterdon County Freeholder Board Director Shaun C. Van Doren stated, “Testing and follow up contact tracing are key elements in the President’s plan for re-opening the country. Over the first three testing dates at RVCC, several hundred area residents have registered for testing by appointment. We encourage those in need of testing to register.”

Testing is free of charge and available to County residents, age five (5) and older. Due to the present limitations on test kit quantities, only those who are exhibiting symptoms, such as fever, dry cough and shortness of breath may be tested. Pre-registration is necessary.

Residents can register by visiting co.hunterdon.nj.us/Coronavirus/testingsite.html

Those without online access can call (908) 237-7150 to register.

The test site at RVCC, will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., April 22 and 24. The site is staffed by Hunterdon County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) volunteers, Health Department and other staff from both Counties, Sheriff’s Officers and Prosecutor’s Office Investigators.

To reduce close contact between those health professionals administering the tests and residents, individuals are given the opportunity to self-nasal swab. Those that are unable to do so will be assisted by the trained health staff on site.

At the test site, individuals must have a written doctor’s authorization and show proof of residency, such as a valid driver’s license or state-issued identification.

Covid-19 tests have been administered at the site on April 16, 17 and 20.
