David Richter and Brick GOP Club President Ruthanne Scaturro Issue Joint Statement

Brick, NJ – March 19, 2020 – David Richter, Republican candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s Third Congressional District, and Ruthanne Scaturro, President of the Brick Township Republican Club, today issued the following statements.

“I’d like to clarify my original statement that was issued via press release yesterday,” said Scaturro. “At our meeting on March 9th, our club did in fact take a vote and did endorse David. After the meeting had adjourned certain members of the club raised concerns over our by-laws and the procedures followed in taking a vote on that endorsement. Because of their concerns, I was hesitant to make the endorsement public. Those concerns were never relayed to the Richter campaign and they had no way of knowing that there were any issues with the endorsement.”

Richter added, “I’d like to thank Ruthanne for clearing the air over the confusion surrounding her club’s March 9^th meeting. Although members of my team were in attendance that night, I was unfortunately unable to attend. I look forward to having the opportunity to join the club’s next meeting when it is safe and responsible for all of us to do so, and I will continue building my grassroots support in Brick.”
