SHADY SUPER PAC SPENDING $50,000 TO BUY HOBOKEN ELECTION FOR RAVI BHALLA

Hoboken, NJ – According to the most recent filings with ELEC, the pro-development Stronger Foundations Super PAC has now spent over $50,000 trying to buy the Hoboken municipal election for Ravi Bhalla, blanketing Hoboken in a blitz of misleading television ads and direct mail. Bhalla, who claims to be against overdevelopment, was endorsed by the Operating Engineers union in October and the Super PAC funded by the same group began running ads shortly after that.

“Outside special interests are trying to take over Hoboken with this unprecedented and completely disgusting Super PAC campaign, with a goal of electing a candidate in Ravi Bhalla who will let them build whatever they want in our city,” said Mayoral candidate Mike DeFusco. “Hoboken voters deserve to know the real Ravi Bhalla — a political insider and government hack whose law firm made $3.8 million in government contracts last year, and whose campaign is now being propped up by $50,000 in special interest money. Our city must stand up on Tuesday and reject Ravi Bhalla’s special interest politics.”
