Democrat John Bartlett remarks on today’s announcement by Assemblyman John McKeon
Bartlett, a candidate in NJ’s 11th Congressional District, announces
end of his “30 coffees in 30 days” tour
Wayne, NJ – Passaic County Freeholder John Bartlett, a Democratic candidate in New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District, today made the following remarks in response to the announcement by Assemblyman John McKeon that he would not be a candidate for Congress in 2018: “John McKeon has a strong record of public service to people in our district, and he will continue to help people in Trenton. I announced my campaign for Congress last month because Congressman Frelinghuysen no longer listens to the people he is supposed to represent. I believe leadership starts with listening, which is why I just completed a tour of our district, holding 30 coffees in 30 days. I look forward to continuing our campaign in the 11th Congressional District in the weeks and months to come, and bringing the change our District so badly needs.”
Bartlett announced the completion this past weekend of the “30 Coffees in 30 days” tour he launched when he opened his campaign for Congress on July 7. Bartlett’s coffees took him to towns in Morris, Passaic, Essex, and Sussex counties: Bloomfield, Bloomingdale, Caldwell, Cedar Grove, Chatham, Denville, Florham Park, Little Falls, Livingston, Madison, Mendham, Montclair, Morristown, North Haledon, Parsippany-Troy Hills, Pequannock, Pompton Lakes, Randolph, Roseland, Sparta, Verona, Wayne, and West Caldwell. “I’ve already had more open, unscripted meetings with voters in the 11th District in the past month than Congressman Frelinghuysen has had town halls in the last five years,” said Bartlett. “We have a 54-town strategy for victory, and we’re just getting started.”
