DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES FOR MORRIS COUNTY COMMISSIONER ACCEPT INVITATION TO DEBATE

For Immediate Release

Morristown, NJ – The Democratic candidates for Morris County Commissioner accepted the League of Women Voters’ (LWV) invitation to participate in a candidate forum to share their ideas and inform voters.

“We welcome and accept the League of Women Voter’s invitation to debate our Republican opponents,” said T.C. McCourt, Judy Hernandez, and Alicia Sharma. “The voters of Morris County deserve a frank and honest discussion of the issues we face today and will face in the future. We urge the Republican candidates to join us.”

Amalia Duarte, the Chair of the Morris County Democratic Committee, agreed. “The residents of Morris County should have an opportunity to hear from candidates seeking an office that controls more than $300 million of our tax dollars. This open forum will help voters get to know the candidates and be better informed about their beliefs and stances on issues impacting Morris County,” said Duarte.

McCourt, Hernandez, and Sharma have agreed to participate in a forum on either September 20, 21, or 29, either in-person or virtually, as proposed by the League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan, grassroots organization that facilitates debates for candidates at all levels of government.
