Democratic Commissioner Candidates Endorsed by League of Conservation Voters 

ABSECON — The Atlantic County Democratic Committee is proud to announce that County Commissioner candidates Kim O’ Brien (At-Large), Joanne Famularo (D-2), and Susan Lazarchick (D-5), have received the endorsement of the New Jersey League of Conservation Voters (LCV). 

New Jersey LCV is the statewide political voice for the environment. They work to elect environmentally responsible candidates to state and local offices. Through their political work they are strengthening laws that defend the health of our communities, working to help foster inclusion and justice, and protecting the beauty of our state and our economic future.

As political leaders, Kim O’ Brien, Joanne Famularo, and Susan Lazarchick embody this spirit of environmental advocacy, and will work to bring clean, renewable energy that powers thousands of homes and creates union-paying jobs in Atlantic County. 

“As Green Team Leader for the Somers Point School District, where, during my time as Leader, we became certified as a Sustainable New Jersey School, I know that opportunities exist for us to upgrade our infrastructure with green technology that will make Atlantic County cleaner and more efficient, which will save tax dollars,” At-Large Commissioner candidate Kim O’ Brien said of the endorsement. 

D-2 Commissioner candidate Joanne Famularo said upon receiving news of the endorsement, “I understand the magnitude of the climate issue that we face in Atlantic County, where too often, our roads flood with little-to-no safeguards in place for our residents. I will fight to put the people of this county and their futures first.” 

D-5 Commissioner candidate Susan Lazarchick said, “I have been an environmental advocate long before ever becoming a candidate, having been involved in Sustainable Jersey and through my role as Chair of the Hamilton Township Green Team. I am dedicated to advancing renewable energy, promoting green infrastructure, and ensuring that environmental decisions reflect the needs of our communities. Together, we can create a future where economic growth and environmental stewardship work hand in hand to benefit the people of Atlantic County.”
