Demonstrating Strong Grassroots Support, Ward E Councilperson James Solomon Submits over 1,000 Petition Signatures to Qualify for Ballot

Solomon – Who Submitted Nearly Three Times The Number of Petitions Needed Said – “This campaign is powered by people – not the machine”

JERSEY CITY, NJ — In a strong show of grassroots support from throughout Ward E, Councilperson James Solomon submitted 1,011 petition signatures to secure his spot on the ballot for November’s Municipal Election. The total number of signatures is nearly three times more than is needed to qualify and is yet another example of Solomon’s growing momentum.

Commenting on his petition submission, Solomon said, “This campaign is powered by people, not the machine, and  I want to thank everyone who signed a petition to get my name on the ballot here in Ward E. It is clear that our campaign has the momentum in this race, and I am consistently humbled by our widespread community support. Folks from all 25 precincts in Downtown Jersey City signed my petition to show that they want strong leadership independent of the political machine and their developer donors.”

James Solomon is an educator, father, cancer survivor, and current Ward E Councilperson. He is running for re-election on a platform of well funded public schools, a more livable and affordable downtown, social justice, and safe streets.
