DePhillips announces new chief of staff
MIDLAND PARK, N.J. – Assemblyman Christopher DePhillips announced that Christopher L. Hughes will serve as chief of staff for his legislative office.
“Chris has a proven track record of fighting for what is in the best interest of students, parents and the people of our community as one of the youngest members of a school board in the state. I am proud to bring him on as my chief of staff. Together, we will continue to step up to the plate to bring the residents of the 40th Legislative District and New Jersey the dedicated public service they deserve,” DePhillips (R-Bergen) said.
A lifelong resident of Mahwah, Hughes was elected to the Mahwah Board of Education in November 2022 at 24 years old. He is active in the Mahwah and Bergen County Republicans and his parish at Saint Elizabeth in Wyckoff. He also volunteered for the Pallotta for Congress campaigns. A 2022 graduate of Ramapo College in Mahwah, he majored in political science and was a member of the college Republicans.
“Working alongside Assemblyman DePhillips is a great honor and privilege,” Hughes said. “His legislative, professional and public experience has bettered the lives of New Jerseyans and I look forward to helping him accomplish his goals in the Statehouse as well as the district office.”
