Doherty: We Shouldn’t Reward Illegal Immigrants With Driver’s Licenses

Says New Jersey Has Reached the Brink of Insanity

Senator Michael Doherty criticized the legislative effort by New Jersey Democrats to hand out driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants.

“The United States of America is a nation of laws, and we cannot pick and choose which laws we want to follow,” said Doherty (R-23). “We shouldn’t let people who are breaking our laws obtain New Jersey driver’s licenses.

“Our state has reached the brink of insanity. We are squandering legislative time and resources on those who reside in New Jersey in violation of our immigration laws. New Jersey’s MVC should not waste one penny of the taxpayers’ money on non-citizens who have no respect for our country’s laws.”
