Downtown Dunellen Wins Prestigious “Great Downtown” Award from NJ American Planning Association (NJ APA)

The Borough of Dunellen is thrilled to announce that Downtown Dunellen has been awarded the esteemed “Great Downtown” designation by the New Jersey Chapter of the American Planning Association (NJ APA). This prestigious award recognizes downtown areas that feature vibrant, diverse businesses, new housing and retail options through redevelopment and infill development, strong community leadership, and downtowns that serve as the centerpiece of the community.

The NJ APA “Great Downtown” Award celebrates vibrant, walkable downtowns that excel in fostering economic development, sustainability, cultural vitality, and inclusivity. Dunellen’s win acknowledges the collective efforts of local businesses, residents, and the municipal government in creating a thriving and connected downtown that serves as the heart of the community.

“The recognition as a ‘Great Downtown’ by the New Jersey American Planning Association is a proud moment for our entire community,” said Mayor Jason F.
