We are the elected Morris County Democratic Committee’s representatives to the NJ Democratic State Committee and we proudly endorse Amalia Duarte for Chairwoman.Amalia’s professional credentials speak for themselves. A graduate of New York University with a degree in journalism, a career as a reporter and a corporate communications executive, Amalia is a talent not to be overlooked at a time Democrats need effective messaging.
An elected official herself, Amalia sought a local seat in Mendham Township, a decidedly Republican bastion. Sensing the community needed an alternative voice and recognizing touchstone local issues, Amalia ran two successful campaigns. As Democrats, we are aware of this achievement for what it represents: hard work, integrity and transparency.The next several years will be challenging for our party. Our leadership must be up to that challenge. We must continue to recruit capable and principled candidates for elective office. We must face each election cycle with a determination to serve the public ethically and with blunt honesty. We need fearless leadership.
