East Brunswick GOP Chairman Calls Out Former Mayor Kevin McEvoy for Continued Silence

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

East Brunswick, NJ- East Brunswick GOP Chairman Jesal Amin released the following statement calling out former mayor and council candidate, Kevin McEvoy for continued silence on the issues facing East Brunswick.

Chairman Amin stated:

“Kevin McEvoy’s continued silence on the issues facing East Brunswick is troubling and the voters of East Brunswick deserve to know where he stands.  It is no secret that Mayor Cohen and former Mayor McEvoy do not get along, and the residents of East Brunswick deserve to know whether or not he will be a rubber stamp for Mayor Cohen’s agenda.

Mayor McEvoy’s continued silence on embattled Councilman Jim Wendell has been telling.  Wendell became a Democrat purely for political expediency, selling out his voters in the process, so that he could benefit developers in building high-rise, high density apartments in East Brunswick.  Moreover, Councilman Wendell stiffed his campaign consultant  – while former Mayor McEvoy said nothing of this behavior.

Former Mayor McEvoy’s continued silence on these critical issues illustrate how he puts partisan politics above the well-being of East Brunswick residents.  The residents of East Brunswick have a choice this November, and I urge them to reject former Mayor McEvoy, because silence isn’t leadership.”
