East Brunswick Residents Dharmesh Patel and Neven Abdo Announce Candidacies for Board of Education, Formation of “East Brunswick Forward” Board of Education Slate

East Brunswick, NJ- East Brunswick residents Dharmesh Patel and Neven Abdo announced today, that they will be running as the “East Brunswick Forward” slate for Board of Education. They are running to keep school taxes low, while continuing to provide top quality education in East Brunswick.

Dharmesh Patel is an 8-year resident of East Brunswick and works at a global pharmaceutical company.  He and his wife have two children, a son in college, who recently graduated East Brunswick High School, and a son in 4^th grade.  Patel is a very active parent, when it comes to his children’s education and currently serves on the PTA.

Regarding his candidacy, Patel stated:

“I greatly look forward to the upcoming Board of Education campaign.  I first got involved in our townships schools to be involved in my children’s education.  As a parent in the school system, I am thankful for the great education they were provided, but that doesn’t mean we can’t keep striving to do better.  If elected, I will work tirelessly to continue providing a high-quality education to our students, while working to keep taxes low and opposing all unnecessary tax increases.”

Rounding out the East Brunswick Forward Slate is Neven Abdo, a 2015 graduate of East Brunswick High School. Abdo, a student at the Honors Program at Rutgers University, has been an active volunteer in and around East Brunswick for many years.  She is a volunteer with her church and previously has volunteered as a tutor at the public library and South River Rescue Squad.

Regarding her candidacy, Abdo stated:

“I am running for Board of Education to give back to the community that gave me so much.  The East Brunswick public schools provided me with the foundation that allowed me to attend a great college like Rutgers and opened up many future opportunities.  That said, I think the residents of East Brunswick can do better, and if elected I will make sure the Board of Ed continues to provide the best education possible to our students, while ensuring school taxes are held down and East Brunswick remains an affordable place to live.”
