Elizabeth Warren Endorses Tom Malinowski

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D.-M.A.) endorsed Tom Malinowski in his campaign in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District on Monday. Warren is a two-term Senator who became a leading figure in the progressive wing of the democratic Party due to her unrivaled advocacy for consumer protection. Before being elected senator, Warren was a professor of law, most recently at Harvard, and her advocacy led to the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

“The NRA and billionaires have already picked their candidate in this race — it’s Congressman Lance,” Warren said. “I’d rather stand with Tom, who will fight tirelessly for New Jersey’s working families. Coming from a family rooted in public service, Tom isn’t afraid to take on the tough fights — whether it’s tackling rising healthcare costs, climate change, or economic inequality. I look forward to working with him in Congress, and I’m proud to support him.”

“I am honored to receive Senator Warren’s endorsement,” Malinowski said. “She has been a leading voice in holding those with power accountable, and working to even the playing field so anyone who works hard can get ahead. I look forward to working with her on everything from easing the burden of student loan debt to campaign finance reform.”

Tom Malinowski is the former Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor. He also served as Washington Director of Human Rights Watch, and as a Senior Director on the National Security Council.
