Democratic Council Candidates Call on Community to Stand Up to Mayor Kranjac

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. — According to a new report, Englewood Cliffs Borough Administrator Lisette Duffy is denying Mayor Mario Kranjac’s claim that her advice led him to demand $2,500 in payment from a local teenager who organized a recent peaceful protest. This contradicts Kranjac’s recent statements, where he said “The bill was mistakenly issued based on advice I received from our borough administrator…” and it exposes Kranjac as a liar only interested in protecting himself from scrutiny.

Democratic Council candidates Glenn Luciano and David DiGregorio are releasing the following statement:

“After embarrassing our community by demanding thousands of dollars from a local teenage activist for exercising her Constitutional rights, Mayor Mario Kranjac has now also been exposed as a liar willing to throw others under the bus in a failed attempt to clear his name. Lisette Duffy is a dedicated, long time borough employee and we are glad that she is not allowing Mayor Kranjac to defame her to deflect blame from his horrendous decision making. Englewood Cliffs Democrats fully support both Lisette Duffy and Emily Gil and we are calling on the community to join us in standing up to Mayor Kranjac this November.”
