ENGLEWOOD COUNCILWOMAN KATHARINE GLYNN

ENDORSES PHIL MEISNER FOR MAYOR

ENGLEWOOD, NJ, April 2, 2018—Englewood Councilwoman Katharine Glynn announced her endorsement of Phil Meisner for Englewood Mayor.

Glynn, who represents Englewood’s third ward, said Meisner has the government experience, personal character, and dedication to community that Englewood needs in its next mayor.

“Phil’s commitment to justice and ethics is part of his character” Glynn said. “Englewood is his only agenda. Phil has real experience in civic affairs. It’s not enough to just talk the talk. He has demonstrated his commitment to Englewood by working on some of its most important boards. As a former member of the Mayor’s Financial Advisory Committee, the Planning Board and Board of Adjustment, he is truly cognizant of the issues facing Englewood residents,” Glynn said.

Glynn, who has served on the Englewood Library Board of Trustees for more than a decade, also commended Meisner’s ability to represent all segments of Englewood’s diverse community and be the unifying force Englewood needs now.

“There’s entirely too much friction in this town, too much divisiveness and mistrust,” Glynn said. “I think Phil’s just the person to lower the volume so we all get along. We may disagree on issues, but without civility and the ability to listen to all points of view, we won’t make much progress. We need Phil Meisner. He will be a voice for us all,” Glynn said.

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of a public servant whom I hold in such high esteem,” Phil Meisner said. “For many years, I have been very lucky to be able to work with Katharine behind the scenes in roles where we didn’t always receive credit when things got done, but we sure made a difference. For Katharine, and for me, it has never been about being in the limelight but about accomplishing something for our City and community. That is why I am so proud to have her stand with me in support of my candidacy,” Meisner said.

Phil Meisner is a long serving Board Member of Englewood’s Vincente K. Tibbs Child Development Center and has served on Englewood’s Economic Development Corporation and Englewood’s Board of Zoning Adjustment, the Mayor’s Commission on Budget and Finance, and as Vice Chairman of the New Jersey State Anti-Bullying Task Force. He is the former chief of staff for Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle and Assemblyman Gordon Johnson and has served as a legislative director and aide in the New Jersey State Assembly. Meisner is currently the vice president and assistant general counsel for Hudson Media, Inc./Hudson Capital Properties.
