ENGLEWOOD GOP: COUNCILPERSONS OH, AVERSA, TSABARI & SONG ABANDON THEIR DUTIES AS ELECTED OFFICIALS BY NOT ATTENDING SPECIAL MAYOR AND COUNCIL MEETING

COUNCILPERSONS OH, AVERSA, TSABARI & SONG ABANDON THEIR DUTIES AS ELECTED OFFICIALS BY NOT ATTENDING SPECIAL MAYOR AND COUNCIL MEETING

THEIR “NO SHOW” BLOCKS OFFICIAL BUSINESS

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. — Mayor Kranjac called for a Special Meeting of the Mayor & Council on February 4, 2020, to discuss Affordable Housing and 800 Sylvan. However, all four (4) Democrat Councilpersons – GLORIA OH, ED AVERSA, DEBORAH TSABARI AND JIMMY SONG – decided not to attend the meeting and deprive local residents and taxpayers from the representation they deserve.

The Special Meeting could not take place – rules governing Special Meetings require a minimum of four (4) of the seven (7) members of the Governing Body to be present. Since four (4) Democrat Council members did not show up, there was no Special Meeting and no official business could take place.

Even without the cooperation of the Democrat Council majority, Mayor Kranjac stated that he will vigorously appeal Judge Farrington’s court order and Englewood Cliffs will comply with our affordable housing obligations but on our terms. There will be another Mayor and Council meeting next Wednesday, February 12, 2020 with details to follow. Mayor Kranjac said, “I want to share as much information as permitted and give residents the opportunity to ask questions and give them answers as best as I can.”

RESIDENTS, PLEASE LET YOUR VOICES BE HEARD
