ENGLEWOOD MAYORAL CANDIDATE PHIL MEISNER CONDEMNS WILDE’S ATTACK ON RESIDENCY

ENGLEWOOD MAYORAL CANDIDATE PHIL MEISNER

CONDEMNS WILDE’S ATTACK ON RESIDENCY.

ENGLEWOOD, NJ (May 29, 2017)—

Michale Wildes “bombshell” of a press release today is a truly sad display straight from his friend Donald Trump’s playbook. He is reiterating exactly what Phil Meisner’s campaign materials say: Phil fell in love with the community and the people after working here for years and then made Englewood his home.

Phil began working in Englewood as an aide to then Assemblywoman Loretta Weinberg. He is the chairman of the Englewood Democratic Municipal Committee. He has served on the board of Englewood’s Vincente K. Tibbs childcare center for nine years and has also served on Englewood’s Board of Zoning Adjustment.

Most importantly, after Michael Wildes left every Englewood taxpayer with a 38 percent tax increase, Phil Meisner served on the City’s Budget and Finance Committee that helped rehabilitate Englewood’s finances. While Michael Wildes was running around taking selfies with any semi-famous person standing still in this country for more than four seconds, Phil Meisner was back home in Englewood helping to clean up Michael Wildes’ mess.

When Michael Wildes was taking selfies at Donald Trump’s Inaugural Ball, Phil Meisner was in Englewood protesting to save affordable health care. When Michael Wildes was helping Donald Trump’s in-laws attain permanent legal residency while Trump’s Administration persecuted and separated thousands of families across our country, Phil Meisner was standing with other Democrats against Trump’s oppressive policies and hateful rhetoric.

“Given my extensive ties to Englewood, it is an insult to Englewood voters to suggest I could hide my residency,” Phil Meisner said. “Michael Wildes might not know who I am because he has been completely missing from Englewood for the past decade, running from the mess he left behind as mayor and hanging out with his friends Donald and Melania. He is now back, trying to rewrite the history of his failed term as mayor and running with Republican Trump supporters who have switched their registration in a cynical attempt to trick voters. Today’s press release is a desperate attempt to fool Englewood, but Englewood already had to dig out from the ‘Wildes’ Years’ once and we won’t be fooled again,” Meisner said.
