Essential Workers Rally at 70 Columbus in Jersey City demanding Compliance to the City’s  Standard Wage Ordinance 

Ironstate Developers, Pannepinto and Fisher Development Associates have already received Default Notices from the City of Jersey City as they are in violation of the city’s Standard Wage Ordinance

On February 24th, Frontline workers at Ironstate’s, Pannepinto’s and Fisher’s developments came together to urge developers in Jersey City to commit to follow the Standard Wage Ordinance and create good jobs for Jersey City’s essential workers.

Councilman James Solomon and Councilwoman Denise Ridley joined Exeutive Vice President and New Jersey State Director Kevin Brown in support of the workers’ demands for these developers to commit to good wages and benefits by ceasing to contract with irresponsible contractors in these buildings and throughout Jersey City.

Jersey City was the first city in the state to pass a Standard Wage Ordinance for buildings that receive some types of tax abatements and other subsidies. This was an important step towards protecting Jersey City workers and creating a more equitable city for all. These developers have already received Default Notices from the City of Jersey City as they have being found to be violation of their Standard Wage Ordinance.
