Time:    7:00pm-9:30pm

Place:   Mount Zion Baptist Church

353 S New Rd

Pleasantville NJ 08232

New Jersey Revolution Radio with our coalition partners Voices of AC, Mt. Zion Baptist Church and 420 IT Solutions will be hosting the general public with regards to the fast changing Marijuana Laws in the Garden State.  The focus of the program will be the social justice and economic impact these new regulations will have on traditional marginalized groups.

Speakers at this event will include Dr. Steven Feinchel a recognized expert in medical cannabis, Hugh Giordano (UFCW Local 152 , Ken Wolski (Coalition For Medical Marijuana New Jersey), Rev. Francios (Mt. Zion Baptist Church), and Ed “NJ Weedman” Forchion a political prisoner and the states most recognized legalization advocate. Admission to this event is free, a $10 donation is requested but not required.

“The law being proposed currently is deeply flawed. It does not address the systemic racism that has destroyed so many lives in NJ”.  Brian Powers, a senior organizer with New Jersey Revolution Radio said “New Jersey Revolution Radio stands with oppressed areas all over our state to demand full decriminalization, full reparations for unjust prison sentences, and an immediate end to the drug war. The for-profit law NJ is trying to pass falls far short, it is written for the bourgeoisie and we have nothing in common with them.”

The new law recently proposed does not properly address the injustice of people locked up for non-violent offenses. The regulations prohibit people incarcerated from getting involved in legal trade. Home grow is prohibited and the permitting process excludes the communities that most need economic development.

The event is meant to present information and answer questions form the local community. With the changes in our law coming fast, the state has not done any work to have these conversations about the real impact of the new environment that is coming. This forum is organized by people who want the working class informed about what is going on.

“We are organizing this forum as a resource for the community”, said Heather Warburton, Art Director for NJRR, “The legislation is changing every day, and even after it passes, we still need to keep pushing to improve it on areas of racial and social justice”
