Evesham Republicans Announce Slate of Mehigan for Mayor, Olt & Thompson for Council
The Evesham Township Republican Municipal Committee has unanimously voted to endorse Dennis Mehigan for Mayor and Bonnie Olt & Michael Thompson for Township Council in the 2022 election.
“On the heels of a thorough vetting process that included a number of highly qualified and impressive candidates, I am thrilled to announce the Mehigan/Olt/Thompson team as our slate this cycle,” Republican Chairman Drew Wilson stated. “With records rooted in service and grounded in volunteerism, Dennis, Bonnie, and Michael are ready to fight for the people of Evesham and bring common sense back to Town Hall.”
A product of Evesham Township Public Schools, Mayoral candidate Dennis Mehigan is a lifelong resident who is extremely active within the Township. With over 30 years of private sector experience ranging from working in a CPA firm to a law firm, Mehigan is ready to tackle the challenges facing Evesham on day one. He has been involved with Marlton Recreation Council Youth Sports as both a participant and a
coach, is currently serving on the Evesham Township Planning Board, and has been elected by the
people of our community twice to serve on the Evesham Township School Board.
With family roots in Evesham that date back to 1932, Bonnie Olt grew up in Evesham and has been active in the community her entire life. Bonnie was elected to serve on the Evesham Township Council previously in 2005 and hopes to return to the Council to restore the policies of good government and fiscal responsibility that have been lacking in recent years. Olt has dedicated many years to service
on the Evesham Township School Board, eventually being elected to Board President, and now currently serves as Vice President of the Lenape Regional High School District Board of Education.
Successful small business owner Michael Thompson is a longtime resident of Evesham and founder of
the Thompson Group Insurance Agency, located right here in Marlton. Thompson has spent countless hours volunteering in the community and was honored with the Citizen of the Year Award from the Evesham Police Department this year. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Marlton Business Association and as a member of the Evesham Zoning Board, the Evesham Economic Advisory Council,
and the Evesham Education Foundation. Additionally, Thompson has served as President of the Rotary
Club of Marlton and was appointed Rotary’s Assistant District Governor in 2018.
“Over the next eight months, our team will be hitting the ground running to bring our vision for a better
Evesham directly to the voters,” the candidates said in a joint statement. “The issues facing our town are
not partisan issues; they affect us all. We encourage all residents to join us as we fight for fiscal
responsibility, a stronger business climate, transparency, and a government for Evesham that is as good
as the people it represents.”
