This is one of the best weeks to celebrate small businesses. It’s National Small Business Week in the U.S. and our team is in Albuquerque, the third stop for Facebook Community Boost. And we are just getting started, as the program is coming to more than 30 cities in the U.S. and around the world. Today, in celebration of the week, we are announcing the next 13 U.S. cities.

Truth is, we are always celebrating small businesses in every part of the world. Every day local business owners are teaching us how to make Facebook a better place to grow their companies. And we take that feedback to heart. Facebook’s Community Boost program is being built based on insights from the community so we can provide free resources to help local business owners grow companies and help job seekers feel more prepared.

We want to be the platform that local businesses and the community can count on. And the stories we hear inspire us to do better. Nadia Martinez is a military spouse who launched Kallie and Co, a sustainable shoe business, out of her laundry room using Facebook. Nadia’s company now supports 20 artisans with fair labor in Mexico, employs a team of military spouses throughout the country, plus donates shoes to women in need in the U.S and Africa. Nicole Dawn, an engineer by trade, started Rescued Furnishings, a DIY furniture rehabbing business as a side hustle. When Nicole and her husband Brandt launched the business they did two things – got a business license and then started a Facebook page. Since opening, they’ve grown sales from a few thousand dollars to 1 million dollars a year, hired 11 people and is a staple in the St. Louis community.

It is an honor to stand with the more than 80 million small businesses that use our platform to run their companies and in turn help communities flourish. Please continue to share your thoughts at facebook.com/communityboostwhere you can also get the latest on the program.

Thank you for making us part of our journey.
