Firefighter Lawrence Moore Announces Candidacy for General Assembly in LD3

MULLICA HILL, NJ – Lawrence Moore, a lifelong South Jersey resident, firefighter, and dedicated public servant, has officially announced his candidacy for the New Jersey General Assembly in the Third Legislative District. With a background rooted in service, Moore brings a boots-on-the-ground perspective to the challenges facing New Jersey families, pledging to fight for affordability, public safety, and common-sense government.

“Too many politicians are interested in climbing ladders to look out for themselves,” said Moore. “I’m more interested in climbing ladders to put out fires. And right now, Trenton is ablaze.”

Raised in a working-class family, Moore knows firsthand the struggles of making ends meet in New Jersey. His mother, a school bus driver for over 30 years, instilled in him the values of hard work and resilience. He worked his way through college all while serving as a volunteer firefighter for over a decade—a commitment to public safety that he carries to this day.

Moore currently serves as Deputy Mayor of Harrison Township and has served as a fire commissioner, giving him firsthand experience with the financial pressures local governments face. He has seen how Trenton’s unfunded mandates force towns to raise taxes or cut essential services, and he is determined to change that.

“My campaign is about putting people first, not politicians,” Moore said. “We cannot keep rewarding bad behavior in Trenton—reckless spending, burdensome mandates, and policies that make New Jersey unaffordable for families and businesses.”

Moore’s platform focuses on improving public safety, eliminating wasteful government spending, cutting taxes, supporting nuclear energy as a cost-effective solution, and reforming school funding to ensure every child, regardless of zip code, receives a quality education.

With a campaign centered on bringing real leadership to Trenton, Moore is ready to take his years of service and problem-solving experience to the state level.
